Harry Winston

Founded in New York in 1932 by Mr. Harry Winston, a gemologist and businessman, the brand is best known for its fine jewelry and exceptional gemstones. In 1989, it introduced its first collection of fine timepieces, the Premier collection, entering the world of Haute Horlogerie.

In 2007 it inaugurated its own manufacture in Geneva, uniting its design heritage with the finest traditions of Swiss watchmaking with collections such as the Ocean, Midnight, Avenue, Emerald, Projet Z, Histoire de Tourbillon and Opus. Harry Winston is now owned by The Swatch Group.

  • Throughout his life, Mr. Harry Winston was referred to as the “King of Diamonds” and “Jeweler to the Stars”. Marilyn Monroe even sung about him in the song Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.
  • Harry Winston was the first to loan diamonds to a film star for a red- carpet event when he dressed Jennifer Jones in gemstones for the 1944 Academy Awards.
  • Harry Winston donated a number of important gemstones to museums, including the legendary Hope Diamond, which he gifted to the Smithsonian Institute in 1958.
