This is WHO WORE WHAT, a series spotlighting the hottest wrists of the week, documenting the classic, the chic, the weird and the wonderful watches over the past seven days.

What is it about celebrities that makes us want to stop and stare and see what they’re wearing? Either way, we’re happy to oblige and gawk in awe, amaze and shock(!) at their wrists to see exactly who is wearing what. In the week where music awards ceremonies made their return and one of the biggest sporting events in the calendar returned for 2022, lust over the hautest watches on celebrity wrists right now, from Rolex to Audemars Piguet. Take your pick!

Change was in the air at this year’s Brit Awards. And about time too. Dropping male and female categories, and the introduction of four new genres, the ceremony held in London last week saw the return of England’s very own Adele, sweeping up awards and gracing the stage after her musical hiatus. But it wasn’t just Adele or Little Simz’s victory that caught our eyes in wonder, it was Mancunian rapper and songwriter, Aitch’s wrist. In case you missed it, the 22-year-old musician took to the red carpet accompanied by an 18k Rose Gold Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar Planets Zodiac model, limited to only 101 pieces. Watch rotation simply once meant a bezel, but for this Jacob & Co. watch, the 288-facet gemstone spheres actually rotate to make your very own orbiting solar system on the go. How’s that for having the world in your hands?

Eminem in Rolex

That’s right, it was SuperBowl Sunday last night, if you’re Instagram feed hasn’t already reminded you yet. Joining the entourage of musicians covering this year’s half-time show, the real Slim Shady took to the stage, alongside Kendrick Lamar, Dr Dre., Mary J Blige, Snoop Dogg and a surprise performance from 50 Cent. With the Los Angeles Rams taking on the Cincinnati Bengals, Eminem took a break from overseeing his Mom’s Spaghetti pop-up (which has an actual location in Detroit) to sing to thousands of fans, with none other than a Rolex Day Date on his wrist. But not your usual kind. A Rolex x Tiffany & Co. hybrid, Eminem dons a unique model with a gold nugget embellished band and gold fluted bezel. Then your usuals: a numerical day viewer at 3 o’clock, a sapphire crystal window and day of the week window at 12. Proving that you don’t need to own a watch for each day of the year, it’s not the first time we’ve seen the rapper’s offbeat Rolex on screen, from the 2020 Oscar’s to his 2020 hit video Gnat.

Dave in Audemars Piguet

Known by his moniker Dave, the monymous musician hailing from South London, turned up to this year’s Brits, and then some. Gifting a performance of ‘In the Fire,’ an emotional, yet politically underscored track, the artist’s passion was alight, quite literally, riffing on a guitar that shot flame out of its neck. In keeping with the heat, there was an AP in situ – notably the brand new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo Extra Thin in Yellow Gold. This “Jumbo” model accentuates the Royal Oak’s original codes with a yellow gold case and bracelet enhanced with a smoked yellow-gold-toned “Petite Tapisserie” dial, with smoked yellow gold-tone notes.
