Released during Pride month, the iconic Chanel J12 is reimagined with a more upbeat look alongside four signature Chanel lines boasting colour and confidence in a limited edition run.

Since its inception in 2000, Chanel’s J12 has become something of a household name in the watchmaking industry. Met with both appraisal and discordance, the latter amongst the more esoteric high-end horologists who are forced to compete with the rising fashion houses, regardless of its reputation, the J12 propelled a new kind of revelation in the 21st world of watches.

Reimagining archives of admired accessories

The all-ceramic timepiece, designed by the artistic director of Chanel, Jacques Helleu, conceived of a wristwatch ticking with savoir-faire of the modern day. In doing so, this paved the way for other models to follow suit with the same bold energy such as the Boy·Friend model, the Code Coco, to the Premiere piece debuting the house’s synonymous chain and leather link strap.

For the maison’s latest remodelling, proving its attuned with the tone of the times, Chanel proves themselves once more as the vanguard where fashion and watchmaking meet with a dynamic update.

A Timeless Movement

Inspired by 1990s Electro culture, the Electro capsule collection pays homage to the progressive movement throughout the high-spirited decade and its vibrant clubbing scene, which trickled down into the aesthetic culture. Reinventing 5 iconic models, the collection positions itself on a journey through time and sound.

Taking centre stage is the J12 Electro, a 38 mm all-black ceramic automatic powered by Chanel’s Calibre 12. This new interpretation of the Chanel watchmaking icon in highly resistant black ceramic and steel, punctuated by numerals in vibrant colours.
